I'm strong!

Yesterday I was busy making a menu in the dining room when I heard my daughter give out a strangled sounding laugh. When I turned around I saw my 4 year old in his super hero costume standing on the couch, Holding my 1 year old daughter by her feet above the floor... I screamed and ran over to grab her before her head hit the floor. Then demanded to know why William thought that he could do that to his sister. William looked at me and said; "But mommy, I'm so very strong!" Boys!!!

How babies are made.

A while back my sister in law came over soon after she found out she was pregnant, at the time she was craving cheese balls so she brought some to snack on, William and Connor would not leave her alone and were trying to eat them all, so we told them "Don't eat those, they are for the baby in her tummy" William stayed away from cheese balls after that. 

Well today I was talking about the new babies that will be here soon and asked William if he knew that aunt Hannah was having a baby. He said, "Aunt Hannah ate the yucky cheese balls and now she is having a baby!" I asked him, "Is that how you think you get babies? Then how did Rachel (My cousin) get a baby in her tummy?" He replied, "She ate it all gone, and now it's in her tummy." 


I don't think I will correct him yet. He is only three!:-)

Candy pirate!

I was just sitting at the table eating dinner when Connor asked me for some candy, I said "Connor if you want candy you have to eat your dinner all gone." Hearing this Connor jumped down from his chair and ran into the other room, when he came back he had a pirate hook on his hand and came at me with a fierce scowl. when he got right up to my face he growled, "Yar! Candy!" I still didn't give him any candy.

Taking things too literally

I heard William teasing Connor a while ago and Connor started to cry, So I called William over and asked him what he did and William started mumbling and talking really quiet. So I started to get really irritated and said "William! spit it out!" William looked perplexed for a minute and then spit right in my face! I just sat there stunned for a minute and looked at William who had a very confused look on his face. And I couldn't look away in time to hide my laughter so I started laughing pretty hard. I said, "William! you spit on mommy!?" And William laughing himself said, "You said to!"

Ghosts.

Last night I watched "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" with my 3 year old son William. I thought that it would be ok because it's more cheesy than scary. Well, there is this one part where I had him close his eyes because there is some blood coming out of a painting and a bloody piano playing by itself and I thought that would be a bit much for him. so I said "William, close your eyes for a minute." so he did and when I said he could look the guy in the movie had fainted so he was laying there. 

So this morning around 5, William comes running in my room and jumps into bed with my husband and I, Startled I asked him what was wrong. He whispered, "Ghooooooost pinano (Piano) And Mommy said, Close your eyes William! and the boy is on the floor!" I said awwww, William I'm sorry that movie scared you!" William replied, " I'm not scared! the boy in that movie is scared of the Ghost pinano!" (piano) I said, "Oh ok. would you like to go back to bed now then?" He said, "No I'll sleep here, but I'm not scared!"

Tomatoes are scary.

The boys watched "The Wizard of OZ" for the first time today. The they were enthralled!

At dinner William was poking a tomato on his plate, I said "William, eat it." William replied, "But Dorothy was scared of tomatoes!" I was confused for a minute until I remembered he was asking why Dorothy was scared, and I told him a tornado was coming.

Learning about fish.

I was talking to William earlier, and I called him a nut, and he replied, "I'm not a nut I';m a jelly fish!" I said you are? He said "Yes! and the Jelly fish says yummy yummy!" I asked, why does he say that? And William said, "Because he's eating Jelly."
